Complete Minimal (CM) or Synthetic Complete (SC) Media

Ammonium sulfate 5.0 g
Yeast nitrogen base without amino acid    1.7 g
Amino acid drop-out mix 2.0 g
Dextrose (40% w/v) 50 ml
Agar (for plates) 20 g
distilled water to 1 L

Autaclave sugar solution and media separately, not together. They can be mixed after autoclaving. If heated together, they can decompose via the Maillard reaction. This will reduce the performance of YPD plates and media.

CM (or SC) is a medium in which the drop-out mix contains all possible supplements (i.e., nothing is "dropped out").

If you want to make a selection media or plates; for instance, minus Uracil plates, just make a dropout mixture without Uracil.
