Technical Specifications

Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) are natural by-products of normal oxygen metabolism and play an important role in cell signaling. However, during states related to oxidative stress, ROS levels can increase dramatically. The accumulation of ROS results in significant damage to cell structures. The role of oxidative stress in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, stroke, inflammatory diseases, various neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer is well established.

Measurement of ROS will help determine how oxidative stress modulates various intracellular pathways. The Cell Meter Fluorimetric ROS Assay Kit uses our unique ROS sensor to quantify ROS in live cells. ROS Green is permeable to cells. Generates green fluorescence when reacts with ROS. The kit is an optimized “mix and reads” assay format that is compatible with HTS liquid handling instruments.

The Cell Meter Fluorimetric ROS Assay Kit provides a sensitive one-step fluorimetric assay for detecting intracellular ROS in live cells with one hour of incubation. The assay can be performed in a convenient 96- or 384-well microtiter plate format and can be easily adapted for automation without a separation step. Its signal can be easily read using a fluorescence microplate reader or fluorescence microscope at Ex / Em = 490/520 nm.
